Christmas in the museums of Barcelona

Due to this special time of year some of these centres have exhibitions based around Christmas.
In the Museu de Cultures del Món you can see from the 14th of December the exhibition “El Nadal i en Campany”, where displayed is large scale Christmas themed pieces that represent the Catalan culture. Revolving around different aspects of tradition, Christmas food, the fun and laughter, the famous log (Catalan tradition). Also in the El Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria you will find a lighting installation which has been named ‘Christmas balls return to the Born’.
Another event which unites more than 10 000 visitors is the Design Market which is held in the Disseny Hub Barcelona starting from the 22nd of December. Here they organise activities and tasks related to design and creation.

Also we want to suggest another visit to the grand Feria de Navidad or the Feria de Santa Lucía. It is the main Christmas Market in Barcelona which is held in the cathedral square, in the Gothic district of the city. It is the oldest fair where thousands of Barcelonans and tourists visit. It began as a fair that was organised for Santa Lucía, on the 13th Of December, but now has become the Christmas market that lasts three weeks.
Just like the traditional Christmas market of Sagrada Familia, the Feria de Santa Lucía ends on the 23rd of December. Here you will find more than 300 stops with objects and items related to Christmas. Also, there is a large exhibition of artisanal items, ideal for those little Christmas gifts.
